Jordan

As snow fell, I pulled up to Jordan's house at 10am with an open mind, my camera, and... well, that's about it. I soon learned that his backyard was actually a mini-dock with a large canal flowing right past his house. We started out with a few shots right in his backyard, then walked a whole 50 yards to the Sparks Marina. Everything that could have happened, did. It got windy, it snowed, my cam got wet, his glasses fogged, etc., but still, amazing pictures were produced.  I'm most proud of this shoot because of the miserable weather we were shooting in more than anything. Although Jordan and his friend he brought along were very fun and made it easy to make the best of it. I even talked him into taking his shoes off at the end to get into the freezing January water. Through this shoot, his Mother Jennifer Rose hired me to shoot her Tahoe wedding in June. I couldn't be more excited! She's actually the producer/host for a local T.V. show called Plush Life which I'll be featured in following the wedding, as trade-work to compensate the wedding! I'm very much looking forward to working with Jordan's great and welcoming family in the future. This shoot was so valuable to me in many ways.

Baylie & Lucas -couple shoot

Making it through three strait years of high school is one thing, doing it with the same person, is another. This couple shoot was to honor three whole years of dating for a friend of mine, Baylie, and her boyfriend Lucas. The afternoon started by piling into her car, and making a small road trip up to the base of Mt. Rose to Galena Creek Park. We saw some other people getting out of their car, and asked where the creek is. This man replied, "Oh it's just up the path, not far! Only 3 miles." Only....? Well, the snow, cold, lack of clothes, nor hike mattered. Baylie and Lucas made the entire shoot incredibly fun and dealt with the bitter conditions like champs. At the very end it started to snow and we got some great piggy-back classics with the snow falling. I would go as far to say this was my most successful shoot yet. I'm really getting a grip on my new camera and its capabilities. I shot the entire shoot with my fixed 50mm 1.8 lens. Happy Three Year Anniversary Baylie & Lucas!
